The Punjab government will cooperate with Himachal Pradesh (HP) to deal with the menace of drugs, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said this while talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a function at Bondli near Samrala.He said the two states could set up joint patrol teams. The Chief Minister said the allegations that synthetic drugs, smack and heroin were being smuggled into Himachal from Punjab were baseless.To a question, Badal denied differences with the BJP on the drug issue. He said both the parties would amicably finalise the distribution of ticket for the Delhi Assembly seats.To another query, the Chief Minister said the state government had filed an application with the Supreme Court for permission to consider applications of life convicts seeking remission.The Chief Minister slammed the Opposition for “tarnishing Punjab’s image by branding its hard-working youths as drug addicts”. He said the government would open three skill centres at Amritsar, Patiala and Faridkot.Badal was accompanied by state minister Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema, Chairman of the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board Santa Singh Umedpuri, former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Harish Rai Dhanda, SGPC member Jathedar Sarbhans Singh Maanki, former chairman of the Samrala Municipal Council Giani Mohinder Singh, Dr S Karunaraju and Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal.
