Patiala, On Kejriwal’s statement that the suspended Punjab MPs should apologise for their behaviour so that their suspension could be revoked, Patiala MP Dharamvira Gandhi said he had not done anything wrong and was not willing to apologise. He said Kejriwal should rather explain whether he still followed the principles of transparency, accountability, Swaraj and party democracy.
“If my raising of issues related to principles and upholding the respect of volunteers and their confidence in party ideals is a crime, then Kejriwal should reconsider the suicidal path he has chosen to undertake. I have already replied to the suspension notice and the high command is sitting pretty over it without taking a decision for over six months. I dare Kejriwal to take a decision on merit,” said Gandhi.
He alleged in the last 22 months since the Lok Sabha elections, the leadership created confusion and division in the party ranks through deliberately putting burning political and economic issues of Punjab on the backburner and adopting arbitrary approach in appointments.
He said every attempt of the volunteers to strengthen party at the grass-roots level had been scuttled by invoking harsh actions on Punjab leaders, trampling the spirit of federalism through Delhi appointees. Today, the volunteers and people of Punjab were facing a dilemma in the face of clamour for power through the mission 2017, he alleged.
