‘Do take part’: PM Modi announces extension of PM mementoes e-auction until Oct 12

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced that the fourth edition of the PM mementoes e-auction has been extended until October 12.

Responding to a tweet thread by the Ministry of Culture, the PM tweeted: “This is among the many special gifts I have received over the years. Respecting people’s wishes, the auction of the mementoes has been extended till the 12th. Do take part.”

The Ministry of Culture had earlier tweeted, “This framed Replica of Kedarnath Temple represents one of the most important pilgrimage centres of India. Here is your chance to own this stunning piece by placing your bids at the ongoing.”

“To view the mementoes, visit the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi from 11 AM – 6 PM. The auction closes on October 12, 2022. The proceeds will be utilized for the Namami Gange project,” the ministry added.

The e-auction of the gifts and souvenirs presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday began on September 17 this year.

The office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received innumerable mementoes and gifts from famous personalities and well-wishers from across the country over the past few years. A collection of beautiful paintings, sculptures, and handicrafts are among the historic gifts of love.

A total of 1,200 gifts and mementoes given to the Prime Minister are up for auction. One of the most popular of these 1,200 gifts is the replicas and models of the Shri Ram Mandir at Ayodhya and the Kashi-Vishwanath Temple at Varanasi.

To participate in this auction, one can visit pmmementos.gov.in to register oneself and bid on the mementoes. The ‘Namami Gange’ programme will benefit from proceeds from the PM mementoes e-auction.

On all dates of the auction, these prestigious mementoes will be on display at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Jaipur House, New Delhi, for public viewing between 11 am and 6 pm
