CHANDIGARH/AMRITSAR, OCTOBER : Sh. Suresh Arora, DGP, Punjab visited Amritsar where he paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib and at Sri Durgiana Mandir today. After that he held a meeting of senior police officers of Border zone, including IGP Border, DIG Border, Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, SSPs of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Batala, Amritsar (Rural) and Tarn Taran to take stock of the law & order situation. The DGP also visited Bathinda where he met Bathinda Zone police officers, including IGP Zone, DIsG Bathinda Range and Ferozepur Range and SSPs of Ferozepur, Fazilka, Moga, Faridkot, Bathinda, Mansa and Sri Muktsar Sahib. During these meetings in Amritsar & Bathinda, he was accompanied by Sh. Rohit Chaudhary, ADGP, Law & Order and Sh. RK Jaiswal, IGP, Intelligence. DGP, Punjab asked the field police officers to apprise him about the prevailing security situation, underlining causes and the solution thereto. He also listened to various problems being faced by the police force. The DGP directed the police officers to work honestly, professionally and with dedication with a view to minimize the gap between police and public and restore confidence of the citizens in the police so that they could help them in bringing normalcy and promoting communal harmony in society.
