* 30 Officials report late on duty
Ludhiana,In a surprise checking carried out by Deputy Commissioner Mr Rajat Agarwal in Ludhiana Municipal Corporation’s Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar today, DFSC (West) Mr Lovekesh Sharma, was among 36 officials found absent. Accompanied by senior District Administration and Ludhiana Municipal Corporation officials, the Deputy Commissioner checked offices of both MC as well as Food and Civil Supplies.
The DC reached the Zone D office at 9:05am and found several officials reporting late for duty. He first checked the offices of Ludhiana MC and then the offices of DFSC (East) Ms Sona Thind and DFSC (West) Mr Lovekesh Sharma.
During checking, 30 officials (12 from MC and 18 from DFSC offices) reported late on duty, 36 officials (24 from DFSC offices and 12 from MC) were found absent, 28 officials (13 from DFSC offices and 15 from MC) were found on leave. Out of total staff of 240 in both MC and DFSC offices, 146 officials were present.
Out of total 89 employees in DFSC (East and West) offices, only 34 were present and out of total 151 employees in MC Zone D office, 112 were found present.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Rajat Agarwal said that all the officials found either absent or those who reported late for duty would be issued warnings. “And if they repeat it in future, we would take strict action against them,” warned the Deputy Commissioner.
While speaking to media persons, the Deputy Commissioner asserted that all officials working in government offices should report to duty on time. “This is the last and final warning today and if next time I find any official reporting late on duty, I would take strict action against him,” said Mr Rajat Agarwal.
The DC was accompanied by Additional Commissioner, MC, Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, ADC Khanna Mr Ajay Sood, SDM (West) Mr Kuljit Pal Singh Mahi, Joint Commissioner, MC Mr P S Ghuman, besides several others.
