New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi will join the high-pitched battleground in Delhi to campaign for the party for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Sonia Gandhi will address a rally at Meethapur Chowk in Badarpur constituency seat on February 1, Sunday.
This will be her first rally of the election season. However, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has addressed two election rallies in the capital.
While Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh will hit the campaign road only during the last leg between February 1 and February 5.
The party vice-president Rahul and former prime minister Manmohan Singh would seek votes in separate public meetings scheduled to be held on February 5, the last day of the campaign for the February 7 Assembly polls.
The Congress was quoted saying, at the moment, all the three key parties, were estimating the mood of the voters and the picture would become clearer in the last week, after the high-profile visit of US President Barack Obama.
The party will hold as many as 150 meetings for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls. It may be mentioned here that Chief Ministers of Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, Uttarakhand are among those who will campaign for the party in the polls.
Congress was relegated to the third position in the last Assembly polls after 15 years in power winning only eight seats in the 70-member Assembly.
