Delhi needs a CM who can work in tandem with the centre – Sukhbir Badal

* By accepting shady money AAP has proved it preaches one
thing and practices the other

New Delhi/Chandigarh, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal said Delhi needed a person who could work in tandem with the Union government to usher in development and that was the reason why it should reject AAP and Arvind Kejriwal and vote in a BJP government.

Addressing a huge public gathering at MCD park in Kalkaji at New Delhi, the SAD President said the Delhi government was an extension of the Central government in many aspects. “Most of the departments in the Delhi government are under the Union government and it is to Delhi’s advantage if a BJP government is voted to power. “A vote for Kejriwal would be a vote for anarchy whereas a vote for the BJP- SAD combine would be a vote for development under the guidance of Prime minister Narendra Modi”, he added.

Urging the people to make a comparison of the achievements of both Mr Kejriwal as chief minister of Delhi and Mr Modi as Prime minister before casting their votes, the SAD president said “on the one hand you have an anarchist who was only interested in holding Dharnas while on the other you have a PM who has consolidated India’s position in the world. United States President Barack Obama’s visit is a testament to this fact”, he added.

Mr Badal said as far as AAP was concerned, recent developments had proved that its leaders preached one thing and practiced the other. He said AAP leaders had promised not to take shady money but now it had come to light that the party had taken a donation of Rs four crores from the same party through four cheques. “This seems to be a clear cut case of money laundering”, he added.

Urging the people to ensure the reelection of Harmeet Singh Kalka from Kalkaji, Mr Badal said Kalka had brought in Rs 36 crore funds to the constituency during his less than one year stint as legislator. “This is unprecedented in the history of Kalkaji constituency”, he said.

Mr Harmeet Kalka while speaking on the occasion, said he had not only brought in Rs 36 crore, but also listed each and every development work undertaken by him in a pamphlet which had been distributed to the people. Former AAP candidate from Kalkaji – Dharamveer, who is now supporting Kalka’s candidature, also spoke on the occasion and urged the people to reject the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
