Chandigarh, A delegation of the minority community in Punjab today met the leader of opposition S Charanjit Singh Channi at his official residence in Chandigarh. A delegation headed by Sitar Mohd. Libra, secretary PPCC raised the demands for the betterment of the muslim and christen community in Punjab which are around 22-23 lacs in umbers. S Channi assured the delegation that there genuine demands will be taken in Vidha Sabha session. He also promised that there demands will also be heard at the party level and proper representation will be given to them at all platforms.
The delegation gave a charter of demands to the leader of Opposition which included special survey of the minority community, formation of minority welfare and development corporation, provision of land to landless and home to homeless of the minority, scholarship scheme for the people of minority, provision of representation in Rajya Sabha and Loksabha on the basis of population, Wakf Board should be freed from the political interference and the space for the graveyards of Muslims and Christians should be provided. The delegation included Wadar Ali Bhatti, Dildar Mohd, Gurjit Singh Bitta, Ayub Ali Khan, Ali Hussain, Barkat Ali and thekedar Rafique Mohd.
A delegation of the Gazetted and the Non Gazetted SC BC employees welfare federation and Scheduled castes & backward classed employess federation, Punjab also met S Charanjit Singh Channi today. Headed by S Jasbir Singh Pal and Amrik Singh Bungar, the delegations gave a memorandum to the leader of the opposition. Channi assured them that the congress party would take up their demands in the coming vidhan sabha session. The delegation also demanded that the letter issued by the department of personal Punjab Government dated 10th October 2014 is unconstitutional and anti reservation, it should be taken back. 85th amendment should be implemented in true spirit. The backlog of vacancies should be filled immediately. Reservation in the government jobs in proportionate to the population of SC BC in the state of Punjab. The delegation included Balraj kumar, Kishan Kumar, Mlakiat Singh, Mohinder Singh Bhasin, Salwinder Singh Jassi, S S Bangar, Prem Singh Domeli, Babu Singh and Salwinder Kumar.
