Decision on Indo-Pak series after June 15: Anurag Thakur

india-vs-pak-odis-700New Delhi: According to newly-elected BCCI secretary, Anurag Thakur, the decision on much-awaite d cricket series between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is likely to be taken after June 15.

“The decision on the India-Pakistan bilateral series is likely to be taken after June 15”, stated Thakur, in a report published in Times of India on Tuesday.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed to hold the series in the neutral venue of Dubai, but before any final decision is taken some issues between BCCI and PCB need to be looked into,” he added.

It seems that the Indian government and cricket board are trying to sort out all the issues before giving a green signal for the series.

Earlier, PCB chief Shaharyar Khan had visited India and met his Indian counterpart Jagmohan Dalmiya as well as finance and information minister Arun Jaitley.

Khan stated after the meeting that his country was hopeful of reviving ties with arch-rivals India with a series in December. However, he made it clear that there is no green signal from the Government of India yet.

“It was a successful tour and I met (Jagmohan) Dalmiya and (Arun) Jaitley to talk about the revival of Indo-Pak series,” Khan told reporters. “Jaitley told me that he feels that the green light will be given. It`s not given yet but will be given in the next two months,” said Khan.
