Moga, August 16- Radical Sikh organisation Dal Khalsa yesterday reiterated its resolve to continue its struggle for Sikh state.
At its conference organised here, the organisation made it clear that the struggle would be peaceful. The organisation demanded right to self-determination for people of Punjab.
Chaired by party chief HS Dhami, it was stated at the conference that the Sikhs wanted to become masters of their own destiny. He said since independence of India, instead of getting rights and aspirations, Sikhs had faced only repression. “Our Culture, Language, heritage is being polluted and loot of our natural resources ( River Waters ) has no parallel . Our shrines are being brought under the control of RSS directly”, he alleged.
He said the political conditions in the country was alarming a volatile for minorities and struggling people. On police crackdown on Sikh activists supporting the campaign for release of Sikh detainees who have served maximum prison terms, he said the continuous detention of Kanwarpal Singh and Harpal Singh Cheema was not based on legal reasons but political.
Satnam Singh Paonta spoke in detail about the promises of the Indian leaders made to the Sikh leaders before the Independence that were never fulfilled. Since then Sikhs has been struggling to safeguard their interests may it be their language , culture, religions .
“There are different set of rule for different communities in India “ said Dr. Manjinder Singh , General Secretary of Dal Khalsa. If people like Assemanand and Maya Codnani could be released on bail who have committed much more heinous crimes , why Sikh prisoners were not being released after completion of their sentences. He blamed the Punjab government for this situation.
Paramjit Singh President of Sikh Youth of Punjab said there was a dersign behind the increasing menace of drugs in the state.
