New Delhi: Former England wicketkeeper Craig Kiewsetter, who recently retired after a serious eye injury, opened up about the division that existed in the England dressing room during his playing days.
In an exclusive interview to ESPN Cricinfo, while referring to the division in the team, the 27-year-old said, “It wasn’t just us competing against the opposition, There was a sense that some of us were competing against one another.”
“There were jokes made in the dressing room if you had a South African background. When we warmed up in training, we were split into sides: South Africans v English,” added Kieswetter.
Kieswetter went on to reveal that the Test players were together, so much that, when the limited-overs players turned up, it felt like you were on the outside.
Interestingly, even England’s discarded maverick batsman Kevin Piertesen had hinted many times in the the past about the division in the England dressing room.
