Chandigarh, Today in a press statment issued by Congress ex -Spokesperson Sukhpal khaira warns Badal duo not to indulge in political vendetta against the Congress MLA and other workers .
It is saddening to note that the Badal duo has now started using the civil administration to victimize the Congress MLA’s and workers. The frivolous and concocted complaint made by the SDM Fatehgarh Pooja Syal Grewal against the Congress MLA has once again vindicated our allegation that the civil machinery of Punjab has been totally politicized and working on the behest of the Badal duo. Its an open secret that Badal clan leaves no stone unturned to victimize the Congress rank and cadre.he added
As we are aware, that on 12.09.2014 SDM Fathegarh Sahib on the verbal instructions of her political bosses, initiated to demolish the constructions made by residents of the area. The process of demolition was based on pick and choose policy, and which was decided by the Akali Halqa Incharge. MLA Nagra was approached by the residents of Fatehgarh Sahib to stop SDM from the said politically motivated step. MLA Nagra reached the point and asked SDM to draw a white line on both sides of road so that all illegal encroachments could be cleared. Trying to escape from the scene, SDM called MLA and all prominent people of area for meeting on 15.09.2014. MLA Nagra and others reached the office as per scheduled time i.e. 10.30AM but SDM not reached the office on time despite the fact she knew that MLA Nagra is sitting in her office, which is gross violation of protocol. After the intervention of Deputy Commissioner, SDM reached her office at 11.30AM and started misbehaving with the MLA and even asked him to be out of the matter. MLA and others raised objection and left the venue feeling humiliated. As an afterthought when SDM realized that she could be charged with misbehaving with an elected representative under the Representation of People Act, 1951, she made a totally false and mischievous concocted complaint against the MLA to her authorities. he added
It is pertinent to mention here, that MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra is the most vocal Congress leader against the misrule and Jungle raaj of the Badal govt. He has protested many times against the wrong and anti people policies of the SAD-BJP alliance. The SDM has made the said false complaint on the behest of Sukhbir Badal Dy.CM and Prem Singh Chandumajra, who was given a humiliating defeat by MLA Nagra in 2012 Assembly elections.
Will Mr. Badal CM explain that what step he took against Prem Singh Chandumajra when he used abusive words against Smt. Ambika Soni? What was his stand when protesting lady ETT teachers were brutally beaten up by police? It’s a matter of great shame for a seasoned and octogenarian leader like CM Badal that he has chosen such path to corner his political opponents. he added
The Badal govt. gave a panic reaction to the complaint made by SDM despite the fact that a complaint against the said SDM has been given to Speaker Vidhan Sabha by MLA Nagra. Needless to mention, that any complaint pertaining to a representative should be treated under the Representation of Peoples Act, 1951. Thus the said enquiry ordered by CM Badal is totally illegitimate and unconstitutional.
Therefore, keeping in view the sensitivity of the issue, Congress demands a free and fair enquiry by the Privilege Committee of the Vidhan Sabha, as complaint is already pending with the Speaker, pending enquiry the SDM should be removed from Fatehgarh Sahib without any delay, to unearth the truth behind the story. Congress warns the Badal govt., not to indulge in any kind of political vendetta against its leadership.he added
