Congress to meet its Waterloo in Punjab : Dal Khalsa

dal-khalsa-1Amritsar,The Dal Khalsa today gave a call to the Sikhs to ensure that the Congress in Punjab meets its Waterloo in the forthcoming Assembly elections to teach this party a lesson for rubbing salt in their simmering wounds by appointing one of the perpetrators of November 1984 anti-Sikh violence as its state in-charge here saying it is the moral duty of every justice-seeking member of the community.

This was stated by Dal Khalsa former chief Harcharnjit Singh Dhami while commenting on the appointment of Kamal Nath as in-charge of the Punjab Congress.

He took a dig at those Sikhs who were leaning towards parties whose hands were soaked with blood of innocent fellow brethren. Instead of crying and complaining, the Sikhs should give Congress a befitting reply to its recent onslaught. It should not be overlooked that the then Congress central leadership led by Rajiv Gandhi orchestrated the anti-Sikh killings in Delhi and elsewhere in Nov 1984.

Commenting on Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s statement that Congress has inflicted new insult to old injury, he said ironically Akali Dal was no different from Congress as both have provided safe havens to killers of Sikhs.

He questioned Badal as to why he has accommodated human rights violator former DGP Izhar Alam in his party. He said his organisation strongly believes that if tomorrow after retirement DGP Sumedh Singh Saini seeks post in Akali Dal, Badal would readily agree to adjust him at appropriate level.

He said the Sikhs of Punjab need to bring their act together if they want to teach the perpetrators a hard lesson. Dhami said that the Sikh community was passing through very hard times in view of the prevailing uncertain and unstable political situation.
