Chandigarh. November 22 – The Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal today reiterated his party’s stand that the Congress party had always played cynical anti-Sikh games in Punjab which seriously hurt the country’s national interests.
The Chief Minister ridiculed Partap Singh Bajwa’s reference to contradictory postures of the senior and junior Badals and said,”Poor Bajwa ji wants to extend the congress policy of divide and rule even to apply it to Sukhbir and me. He should realize that not only Sukhbir and I, every Punjabi has one and the same opinion on the role played by the congress. It is that the Congress party is anti -Sikh, anti-Punjab and its conduct is against national interests.”
Referring to the description of the Congress party as anti national by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal and senior leaders Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa , Balwinder Singh Bhunder and Prem Singh Chandumajra Mr Badal said ,”The congress has been trying to malign the Sikh community by painting it as anti national whereas the fact is the congress has always propped stooges who raise anti national slogans,” said Mr Badal in a statement here.
Fully endorsing the views of SAD leaders expressed in New Delhi yesterday, the Chief Minster said, ” The conduct of Congress leaders has always helped anti- national mischiefs in Punjab. What would you call such a party especially its Punjab unit?” asked the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said, “The Congress has been trying to malign the Sikh community by painting it as anti national whereas the fact is the Congress has always propped stooges who raise anti national slogans. It’s role has been anti national in Punjab,” said Mr Badal
In a statement on the eve of the Sadhbhawna Rally at Bathinda, the Chief Minister declared, “The Sikhs are a fiercely patriotic community and the confusion created by anti national resolutions from the November 10 stage was the handiwork of the Congress party and its stooges. These resolutions were a betrayal even if the people gathered there off stage none of whom wanted Khalistan. The Congress party should tell the country why it has not taken any action against its senior members who shared the stage from which anti national resolutions were presented. It is now an open secret that these resolutions were dictated by congress party and Simranjit Singh Mann. So what does that make Congress party?”
