Chandigarh, The condition of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who is on indefinite fast for the release of seven Sikh prisoners and was admitted to the hospital yesterday, is stated to be stable. Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann called on him in the hospital today.
Police Deputy Commissioner Ambala Surinder Pal Singh also inquired about his health. He has been on fast since November 14 demanding pre-mature release of seven Sikh detainees. Earlier, he was not allowed to proceed to Amritsar to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple.
As his condition deteriorated last evening, his family got him admitted to the hospital. He is being administered glucose and other medicines.
Police have made heavy arrangements at the hospital where supporters of Khalsa have started gathering.
Meanwhile, Khalsa’s spokesman Gurpal Singh claimed that his fast was continuing.
