CM TO LAY FOUNDATION STONE OF ITI AT MALAUD ON AUGUST 24

Ludhiana, August 22:In a big to provide technical education to youth of rural areas, the foundation stone of Shaheed Baba Maharaj Singh ITI, Malaud, would be laid by Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal on August 24 (Monday). This would be a super speciality (A grade) ITI and would be constructed with a cost of Rs 6 crore on seven-acres land donated free of cost by Nagar Panchayat, Malaud.

With the setting up of this ITI, which has been dedicated to Baba Maharaj Singh (Rabbon Uchi), the first shaheed of Jang-E-Azaadi, thousands of youth from nearby 100 villages would be benefitted.

While giving information, Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal, speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, said that the Shaheed Baba Maharaj Singh ITI at Malaud would be ready within next one year. He said that under the first phase, the ITI would start a total of 12 trades, in which around 400 students can study.

Dr Atwal informed that the ITI was a long pending demand of the area residents and once it starts functioning, it would help in empowering the rural youth of nearby villages. He said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party government in Punjab is committed for overall development of the state and such institutes would help today’s youth in becoming self dependent.

Dr Atwal also thanked Nagar Panchayat, Malaud for providing seven-acres land free of cost. He said that he has taken up several other projects with the Punjab government, the foundation stones of which would be laid soon.

Former MLA Mr Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal today visited the site and supervised the ongoing preparations there today.
