Chandigarh, Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today express profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of international hockey champion of Yesteryears Niranjan Singh Dhillon, who passed away on Tuesday night.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister lauded the outstanding services of the deceased Olympian Mr. Niranjan Singh Dhillon to the nation and said that the sports fraternity would ever indebted to him for his enormous contribution in taking the hockey to new heights at international arena. He expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family especially his son, an eminent journalist Mr. Tirath Singh Dhillon. He also prayed to the Almighty to give strength to bear this huge loss and grant peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Revenue & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia also condoled the passing away of world class Hockey star Mr. Niranjan Singh Dhillon.
Advisor on National Affairs and Media to the Chief Minister Mr. Harcharan Bains also mourned the sad demise of Mr. Niranjan Singh Dhillon and shared condolences with the family in this hour of grief.
According to the family sources, Bhog and antim ardas in the memory of Late Niranjan Singh Dhillon would be held at his ancestral village Dhillwan (Jalandhar Cant) on December 25, 2014 at 12.00 noon.
