BJP State president expresses gratitude to Jaitley and Naidu for development schemes,Requests for Financial assistance to Punjab
Amritsar, Punjab BJP president Shri Kamal Sharma has expressed confidence that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the development oriented policies of the BJP-led union government, Punjab will witness path of glory. While addressing a gathering on the sidelines of a function organised to start the work of various developmental schemes, Shri Sharma thanked the centregovernment for the schemes and demanded more financial aid so that Punjab can usher into an era of development at the same pace as other states of the country. Shri Sharma thanked Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development andHousing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu for the various schemes for Amritsar which includes Rs 69.31 crore for Amritsar a heritage city, its development and expansion scheme, four laning of the Highway at an estimated cost of Rs 1100 crores and Rs 5.66 crore Rehabilitation Centre Scheme. Shri Sharma said that Shri Jaitley has fulfilled the promise made with the people of Amritsar. He further said that with the completion of these schemes, not only the holy city of Amritsar would be on the path of progress but would lead to the development of the entire state. He said that already within just an year of its rule at the centre, the BJP-led NDA government had given Punjab an IIM, PGI Satellite Health Centre, road construction schemes, in principle agreement for the opening of the Adampur-Doaba airport for civilian flights and a food park. He also drew the attention that because of some reasons, earlier Punjab was lagged behind in terms of pace of development as compared to other states and hence there was a need to pay special attention towards it.
