CASE REGISTERED AGAINST PUNJAB BJP CHIEF’S ASSOCIATES IN DRUG RACKET

Ferozepur, August 6:  Now it is Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party President Kamal Sharma is in the firing line as the police has registered case against two of his associates and a deputy superintendent of police in the drug smuggling case. This follows the revelations made by one Lakha Singh arrested earlier.

The two associates are Jugraj Singh Katora, who heads the Ferozepur district unit of the party and Jimmi Sandhu, who has been claiming to be his personal assistant and is BJP Yuva Morcha leader and Deputy SP Balwinder Singh Sekhon. Two others persons have also been named in the case.

It may be mentioned that Kamal Sharma had been vociferously attacking the Akali leaders on the issue of drug smuggling.

The issue of Sharma’s associates being involved in drug smuggling had earlier been raised by the Congress in the Assembly.

Ferozepur Congress MLA Parminder Singh had demanded the registration of case against these people and the DSP on the basis of interrogation of Lakha Singh. Five Congress MLAs led by Lal Singh had yesterday demanded Sharma’s resignation on moral grounds.
