Tarntaran, February 11: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and President, Shiromani Akali Dal, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today dared Captain Amarinder Singh to showcase even a single achievement of his tenure to people so as to enable them to see captain’s brand of development.
Addressing mammoth rallies at villages Aladinpur, Bakipur, Jeowala, Manochahal of Khadoor Sahib constituency in favour of SAD candidate Mr. Ravinder Singh Brahampura, Deputy Chief Minister said that captain Amarinder Singh pushed state backwards during his tenure and put a stop to schemes of public welfare and development initiated by Badal government. He said that people of Punjab cannot forget tubewell bills imposed by Amarinder Singh because instead of providing succor, captain put extra financial burden on them.
Divulging more, S. Badal said that on assuming Chief Ministership, captain had imposed a blanket ban on recruitments rendering thousands of youth jobless. He said that captain had only enjoyed fruits of power during his tenure instead of devoting attention towards taking state on road to development.
Listing achievements of SAD government, S. Badal said that whenever S. Parkash Singh Badal has assumed reigns of state in his hands, it has resulted in unprecedented development apart from initiation and implementation of multiple pro-people schemes focusing on farmers, poor sections of society, employees and labourers. He said that subsidized atta-dal scheme, old age pension, shagan scheme, free bicycles to girls and insurance schemes are proving beneficial for every section of society adding he said “It is clear demonstration of the fact that whatever we promised, it had accomplished”.
He said that SAD is people’s party which had always kept welfare of people uppermost in its mind. He informed that SAD government has given a major relief to farming community by waiving of tubewell bills and Punjab government pays electricity bills of farmers to tune of Rs. 6000 crore from state exchequer. He listed focal points as a big achievement of present dispensation which is proving a boon for farmers in selling their produce.
Calling SAD a party of all Punjabis, he said that this second oldest party of country would continue to work towards welfare and betterment of Punjab. Lambasting opposition parties, he said that these parties have a vicious agenda of weakening Sikhs, which is precisely why they are out to weaken SAD. He said that a strong SAD would ultimately lead to strengthening of Sikhs which makes it imperative for every Punjabi to be a pillar of strength for SAD.
Taking a dig at Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister said that Kejriwal is wholly unaware of Punjabi lifestyle, needs and aspirations of people of Punjab because a city bred person can’t understand needs of poorer sections of society. Terming Kejriwal as having zero knowledge about agriculture, prime occupation of Punjab, he said that how can such a person be expected to solve problems of farmers. Accusing Kejriwal of making false promises to grab power, he said that people of Punjab won’t be swayed by his sweet talk. Calling AAP a party without base among people, he said AAP had now run away from Khadoor Sahib electoral battle whereas earlier it had forfeited its deposit in Talwandi Sabo by-poll.
Terming Congress leader Ramanjit Singh Sikki as a person adopting double standards, S. Badal said that on one side Sikki resigned in protest against sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji whereas on other hand, he salutes Gandhi family responsible for attacking Sri Darbar Sahib and massacre of Sikhs in Delhi.
Making an appeal to voters of Khadoor Sahib constituency, Deputy CM expressed confidence that voters of this constituency would massively vote for Ravinder Singh Brahampura and gift him this seat with a margin of one lakh votes thereby sending out a clear message that people of state are harbingers of peace and development. He assured that SAD would always come upto expectations of public.
On this occasion, Lok Sabha member Mr. Ranjit Singh Brahampura, SAD candidate Mr. Ravinder Singh Brahampura and cabinet minister Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka also addressed gatherings.
