Punjab BJP today termed state Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s first 100 in office as 100 days of betrayal, deceit and treachery. Coming down heavily on the Chief Minister for listing out his ‘fraudulent’ accomplishments on completion of his 100 days in office, state BJP secretary Vineet Joshi accused him of befooling the people of the state. Joshi said that farmers, labourers, youths, dalits, women- all sections of the society have been deceived by the Congress government in the state. Joshi said, “During his first 100 days in office, Captain Amarinder Singh just indulged in looting Punjab, vendetta politics, atrocities on dalits and women, gangwars, power cuts, protests and sacrilege”.
Joshi further said, “I would like to correct Capt. Amarinder Singh that during his first 100 days in office, not 80 but 110 farmers have committed suicide in Punjab. What is more heartening is that 27 farmers ended their lives after he made his false promise of waiving off their loans. Leave aside loan waiver, the Congress even failed to keep its promise of providing a relief of Rs. 10 lakhs and a job to the kin of the suicide victim. Also, it’s been a month since he announced a Commission to enquire into the sand mining scam, but the report hasn’t seen the dawn of the day”.
Reminding the Chief Minister of his promises made to the youth, Joshi said, “Congress had promised to provide a job to each and every household and an unemployment allowance of Rs. 2500 per month till one gets a job, but it wasn’t even mentioned in the budget. Not only this, Smartphones were promised to all the youths, but the budget was allocated only for 20,000 youths”.
Lambasting Capt. Amarinder over his purported efforts to curb VIP culture, Joshi said, “On one side you claim to end VIP culture by removing red beacons and on the other, you come up with special number plates for vehicles of ministers and bureaucrats”.
Whom are you fooling? Joshi asked.
