Jalandhar, July 20 Senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, on a visit to Jalandhar today, refused to side with either the pro-Captain or the pro-Bajwa faction competing for the top job in the state Congress. Bhattal said the reports, terming the state Congress as divided, were all media hype and both the (Captain and Bajwa) sides were actually working to strengthen the party. She, however, said that in the view of the Assembly elections, the time was ripe that a decision regarding who is to head the Congress in Punjab to counter the Akalis is taken soon by the high command. When asked whether she thought she was the right choice for the top job, the former CM said, “I won’t shy away if the high command places such a responsibility on me. However, I have never intentionally contended for the position.”
