Chandigarh, This is in reference to some news being circulated on some online newsportals attributing a false statement to Capt Amarinder Singh on the issue of leadership change in Punjab.
Following is the exact description of what he said on the leadership issue in Punjab during an informal interaction with the media at Dirba today. This statement is already a part of the press release issued earlier, about the rally.
Replying to a question on the issue of the PCC reshuffle, Capt Amarinder said, it was the prerogative of the Congress president. He said, the high command was very much seized of the matter.
Asked about his reaction over the reports about Ms Ambika Soni being appointed as the PCC president, Capt Amarinder reiterated that he had already presented his views, based on the ground realities in Punjab, to the high command.
“I have already clarified that I have put forth my point of view based on the ground realities and the sentiments of the common workers in Punjab to the high command”, he retorted when asked whether he approved of Ms Soni as the PCC president.
