CHANDIGARH, January 15: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today welcomed the merger of the People’s Party of Punjab into Congress saying that the merger will go a long way in redeeming and retrieving the political, social, economic and agricultural situation in Punjab.

“When the mission is the same there was no reason why the paths should be different”, Capt Amarinder said, while welcoming the PPP merger with the Congress.

“We have a common mission with a common goal and now we have opted for a common path together and I am confident that we will succeed in completing our mission and achieving our goal of restoring Punjab’s pride and confidence that has deeply been bruised and hurt by nine years of Akali-BJP misrule”, he added.

The PCC president said, there were multiple points of convergence with Manpreet and hoped that together they can steer Punjab out of the social, political and economic anarchy that the state helplessly finds itself in thanks to the callous misrule of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Deputy Chief Minister son Sukhbir Badal.
