CHANDIGARH, November 6: Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh today challenged the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to visit the victims of the Bargari police firing, like the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi did.
“Leave it to the people of Punjab to pronounce their judgement as who was their enemy; you or the Congress, if you still have any doubts”, he dared Badal, while advising him to come out of the obsessive compulsive disorder of seeing Congress hand in everything that goes wrong with him.
Asserting that both the Panth as well as Punjab had moved past the phase where Badal could mislead them, the former Chief Minister pointed out, how Rahul Gandhi was presented Siropas at Takhat Damdama Sahab in Talwandi Sabo today and Gurdwara Sahab at Bargari yesterday. Besides, he added, ardas was performed at both the places for peace in his (Rahul’s) presence. “Let you or anyone amongst you try and dare to visit a Gurdwara Sahab at these places and see your fate by getting a thrashing of lifetime”, he dared Badal and his party.
Referring to repeated references to Operation Bluestar by the Akalis to scratch old wounds, Captain Amarinder said, Badal was as much responsible for it as anyone else. He said, Badal was already exposed as his mask of ‘Panth Rattan’ had already worn off with people already convinced that he was equally responsible for Operation Bluestar as anyone else.
“I am a witness to the developments that led to Operation Bluestar and Mr Badal cannot escape responsibility”, he asserted, while challenging Badal to prove him wrong.
“Since you have lost credibility and confidence to face the people, you are now trying to resort to lies and falsehood which nobody is prepared to buy”, he told Badal, while asking him to come out of his obsessive compulsive disorder about ‘panth in danger’ and seeing ‘Congress hand’ in everything that goes wrong.
