Capt Amarinder cautions Haryanvis against Badal-Chautala nexus

Shahbad Markanda (Kurushetra), Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha and former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today cautioned the people of Haryana against the Chautala-Badal nexus and urged them to ensure they return the Congress government if they wanted the development to continue in their state. He also warned against the false promises being doled out by the BJP to mislead the people of Haryana as they did at the centre.

Addressing an impressive public meeting in support of the Congress candidate Anil Kumar Dhantauri at village Nalwi here today, Capt Amarinder referred to the devastation caused in Punjab by the eight year rule of the Akalis led by the Badals who are in alliance with the Chautalas in Haryana. “The way they have looted and robbed Punjab, they will together loot and rob Haryana as well”, he warned, while adding that their only agenda was amassing personal wealth at the cost of public welfare.

He ridiculed the Chautala’s claims of ruling from Tihar jail. “It is extreme shamelessness that a person who has already been convicted of corruption is claiming to rule from Tihar jail”, he observed, while adding, “he (Chautala) should instead feel ashamed of having been convicted for robbing his own people”. He said, the Badals were no different in Punjab and had not only destroyed its economy but also an entire generation by supplying and patronising the drug trade.

The former Punjab Chief Minister congratulated the people of Haryana and Nalwi in particular for their successful struggle to get their own independent SGPC. “Otherwise the Badals in collusion with the Chautalas tried all their best to ensure it did not happen so that they could continue with their loot of the gurdwara funds”, he said to a thundering applause.

Capt Amarinder warned people against the false dreams being shown by the BJP and their Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “You have seen for yourself as what they promised before elections for the country and what they have delivered”, he said, adding, they are now trying to use same ploy in Haryana as well.

Lauding the extraordinary development carried out by the Congress government in the state, he told them, “on the one hand you have the ten years of development in front of your eyes and on the other hand you have the fake and false promises being made by a man who is already destined to return to Tihar jail by October 17 after having been convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison for corruption”, he told the crowds while referring to the massive development having been done in Haryana during the last ten years.

Among others present on the occasion included the party candidate Anil Kumar Dhantauri, Secretary General of the All India Jat Maha Sabha Yudhvir Singh and vice president Harpal Singh.
