Amritsar, July 26 Despite Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s assurance to redress all her issues, CPS Navjot Kaur Sidhu today alleged she could not trust the Badals as they had repeatedly betrayed her husband in the past and were doing the same with her. Talking to the media here, Sidhu asked: “How can I trust them when 28 files of my constituency are lying pending with the state government for the last three years?” She said Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal had promised Rs100 crore for development of her constituency, but nothing materialised. She recalled that the government had persuaded her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was then Amritsar MP, to withdraw his plan to sit on fast-unto-death by promising him that all his pet projects would be completed in a time-bound manner. “But nothing has happened till date. The solid waste management plant which was planned way back in 2004 is yet to be set up. There is no trace of the sports stadium at Ranjit Avenue,” she said. She said she would only believe in the CM’s assurance when tenders for Rs10 crore roadwork were issued for her constituency and her other projects were made time-bound. “Otherwise I will be sitting on fast-unto-death from August 15. Nobody can stop me,” she averred. Sidhu stated the Akali Dal would be happy to know that she would not be contesting the forthcoming Assembly poll if the BJP fought it in alliance with the SAD.
