Jalandhar,
Claiming that central investigation agencies could not be relied upon for a fair probe into the alleged links of Akali leaders in the Bhola drug case, BSP national general secretary Narinder Kashyap today said the case should be handed over to a sitting judge of the Supreme Court or the Punjab and Haryana High Court.Kashyap said this while addressing a gathering of workers at the party office here after being re-appointed Punjab in charge. He said as the SAD had an alliance with the BJP, which was in power in Punjab as well as at the Centre, the investigation by a central agency could be allegedly influenced politically. He said the Enforcement Directorate had little scope and could investigate only the violations of money laundering. “The CBI too might play in the hands of the government as has been seen earlier. Since the matter involves political bigwigs, it needs to be properly investigated only by the judiciary”, he said.
