BSF seizes heroin worth Rs25 crore

The Border Security Force (BSF) sleuths of 191 Battalion today seized five packets of heroin worth Rs 25 crore from border outpost (BOP) Rattoke in this sector.Deputy Inspector General of BSF, RK Thapa, said during wee hours today morning, the BSF troops deployed at BOP Rattoke observed some suspicious movement across the cobra fencing.Thapa said the troops at once challenged the Pakistani smugglers who opened fire towards BSF post. He said the smugglers disappeared into the darkness when the BSF troops fired in retaliation.Later, during search of the area, the troops recovered heroin worth Rs 25 crore in the international market. — OC
