Boy, 9, steals and crashes Saskatoon bus

Saskatoon,A nine-year-old boy in Saskatoon may get a stern talking to from his parents, but won’t be charged with an offence after stealing and crashing a city bus on Saturday morning.
Saskatoon Police say no one was injured after the boy hopped into an empty bus that was parked outside a transit yard with the engine running.
He hit the gas and made it two blocks before hitting a curb, smashing into another city bus, plus a parked vehicle, clipping a stop sign — and then getting stuck.
“I looked in my mirror and I saw a little head in the driver’s seat of the bus,” eyewitness Michael Pritchard told The Canadian Press.
Pritchard said as he waited in his truck for his son in an alley, he saw a boy ride past on his bicycle. When he looked around again, he saw the boy driving the bus as it raced to the street.
Pritchard followed the bus in his truck as it crashed. At that point, Pritchard ran over to the bus to try to help. The boy was looking at Pritchard through the doors and pressing down hard on the gas pedal.
“I had to pry open the bus doors. I told him to get out of the bus. He got out of the bus and I grabbed him because I didn’t want him to take off. That’s when the transit guy came,” said Pritchard, who was asking the boy questions.
“He just kept saying, “No, no.'”
The boy was taken into police custody, but is too young to be charged with an offence so police took him home.
Pritchard said the boy did a lot of damage and is lucky no one was injured.
