Chandigarh, February 15, 2016: Accusing both Congress and SAD-BJP combine for virtually ruining the education system of the Punjab, Aam Admi Party (AAP) today vowed to implement a comprehensive educational policy in the state to make it adequate and job oriented.

“Dire state of education system in Punjab clearly indicates that both Congress and SAD-BJP were never serious to improve the standard of education, perhaps in an attempt to keep their ‘traditional’ vote bank intact, by not giving them the desired exposure of world”, AAP MP Professor Sadhu Singh said.

Although, it is fundamental right of the citizen and prime responsibility of any state government to impart quality education to the people, but by not doing so, the previous regimes have created hindrance in the overall development of border state, AAP MP said that leave apart the basic facilities like laboratories or sports, even in many schools teachers are not available, and those available are in-efficient.

Making a scathing attack on state government, Prof Sadhu Singh said that in the recent years, there was no appropriate increase in the annual budget of education, which left the entire system in ‘limbo and paralytic”.

He vowed that Delhi Government has taken an exemplary step by chalking out a comprehensive education policy but allocated sufficient budget. Even the procedure of appointing more than 20 thousand teachers has already initiated, he added.

To make the education as job oriented, it has been planned to start vocational courses in the schools, he said adding that once voted to power, AAP would bring revolutionary changes in the education system in Punjab on the pattern on Delhi.
