Chandigarh, July 8 – Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today gave a call to chairpersons of all boards and corporations to ensure implementation of welfare schemes launched by state government at the ground level so that beneficiaries at grass root level could take benefits of these schemes.
Mr Badal gave these directions during installation ceremonies of Mr. Surjit Singh Ablowal as Chairman Punjab Tourism Development Corporation, Mr. Ashok Aneja and Bhagirath Singh Lopon as Chairmen of Punjab Agro Export Corporation and Om Parkash Kamboj as vice chairman of Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (BANKFINCO).
Deputy Chief Minister said the boards and corporations played vital role in providing self employment to people, thus, their heads should do all efforts to implement state welfare schemes in true spirit. He asked to all chairpersons and vice-chairpersons to launch a campaign to generate awareness of these schemes among the masses.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Jathedar Tota Singh, Ajit Singh Kohar, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Sikander Singh Maluka (all cabinet ministers), Chaudhary Nand Lal Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Bibi Jagir Kaur and Manpreet Singh Iyali (both MLAs), Diyal Singh Kolianwali, Sukhdarshan Singh Mrar and Barjinder Singh Brar Makhan (all chairmen) and Deepinder Singh Dhillon were present on the occasion.
