Design and powertrain
Image Credit: BMWThe BMW X4 M Performance SUV features subtle visual distinctions from the standard X4 model. It has a larger single-piece kidney grille, in contrast to the typical twin-grille arrangement with a black bar. The front headlights come with full LED technology as the standard choice, and the vehicle rides on 20-inch M light alloy wheels, with M Sport badging throughout to distinguish it from the regular X4 variant.
Inside the X4 M40i, the interior exudes a sporty ambience. The central dashboard features a free-standing digital display, with a standard 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an optional 12.3-inch touchscreen display is also expected to be available. The upholstery includes new sports seats, and the vehicle is equipped with a three-zone automatic climate control system.
Under the hood, the BMW X4 M40i is powered by a 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine. Paired with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, this engine generates 355 bhp of maximum power and 500 Nm of peak torque.
