BJP trying to form govt in Delhi without numbers: Congress

New Delhi: A day after the Aam Aadmi Party sought President Pranab Mukherjee’s intervention in not allowing Lt Governor Najeeb Jung to invite BJP to form a government in Delhi, Congress, too, said that they will protest against the BJP on the issue of government formation in Delhi.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Arvinder Singh Lovely on Sunday alleged that the BJP is “trying to form government in Delhi without numbers”, and said that the Congress will fight such issues and protest against the BJP.

“There is no clause of secret ballot in the Constitution, BJP is trying to form Govt without numbers and thats unconstitutional,” Lovely said.

The AAP, which has been accusing the BJP for horse-trading in forming the government in Delhi, said that they (BJP) can form government only by buying MLAs.

Attacking Delhi Governor Najeeb Jung for seeking the President’s permission to invite BJP to form government, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said “if BJP is invited, it will be a murder of the democracy. It will be unconstitutional.”

Kejriwal wondered why such a move of calling BJP to take a shot at power is being initiated when the party had after assembly elections in December last year refused to form government citing lack of numbers when it was invited.
