Chandigarh, September 6: The BJP in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kahsmir and Chandigarh would have new presidents by November 20.
Party’s national Election Officer, MP (Rajya Sabha) and National Vice President BJP Avinash Rai Khanna reviewed the electoral preparations at a meeting of State Election officers of the states concerned at a meeting here last night.
Prof Rajinder Bhandari from Punjab, Rishi Prakash Sharma from Haryana, Vikram Singh Thakur from Himachal Pradesh, Chander Mohan Gupta from Jammu and Kashmir and Prem Kaushik from Chandigarh participated as State Election Officer of their respective states.
Khanna asked them to strictly follow the election schedule and complete the election process by November 20.
It is pertinent to note that as per the election schedule, state election officers have been asked to ensure election of booths by 20 September, Mandal units by 10 October, district units by 20 October and state president by 20 November.
