Abohar, Hundreds of women on Thursday met Congress leader Sunil Jakhar and showed their application forms which had allegedly not been accepted under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY).
After listening to the affected applicants, Jakhar said the anti-poor face of the alliance government in state stood exposed again.
He demanded a CBI inquiry into the episode to identify and book erring officials and fake claimants in the housing scheme. He claimed that preliminary inquiries have indicated that a fake survey was conducted to accommodate BJP and SAD activists in the PMAY even when most of them owned palatial houses in the names of their family members.
None of the probes routed through department officials or the Vigilance Bureau in nine years had reached any conclusion, he claimed. Speaking to mediapersons, he said blue cards preparations, fake distribution of kerosene oil through alliance activists controlling fair price shops, malpractices in distribution of certified seeds and insecticides, bungling in post-matric scholarships to SC/ST students through the institutions run by SAD BJP supporters, bogus MGNREGA payments and other scams had unveiled the ugly face of the government which claimed to be the architect of good governance.
