New Delhi: A local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad on Saturday attempted suicide by consuming poison during a Facebook LIVE session.
The man was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he is currently undergoing medical treatment. His health condition is said to be critical.
The man, identified as BJP Kisan Morcha District Minister Veer Singh Saini, spoke about being harassed by some local leaders and the Kanth police station in charge just before attempting suicide. He claimed that the authorities are not listening to him and even the police are not responding well to his requests. It is to be noted that Saini is the same BJP leader who received a death threat from a foreign organization a few days back.
Rape allegations
Through Facebook, Saini told that he is threatened to be falsely implicated in a rape case. He further stated that Moradabad’s Kanth police station in charge is also involved in this. In the video, he also talked about his family and said that he is the father to a little girl who goes to school.
Man consumes poison inside police station in UP
Saini asked his supporters how would he tolerate such a big allegation. He even sought advice from his Facebook friends and asked what should he do in such a case. After speaking his heart out, Saini drank poison.
Investigation
A lot of other leaders gather in his support when they got to know that Saini has consumed poison. They demanded a thorough inquiry by the police into this matter. A complaint has been registered in the concerned police station and further investigations are underway.
Superintendent of Police (rural) Sandeep Kumar Meena said that Saini’s condition has improved a bit and he has regained consciousness.
As per an online report, there is an ongoing depute between Saini and Mahaveer, who had leveled molestation allegations against him.
