Chandigarh, October 19: The BJP in Punjab has convened emergent meeting of its core group here on Tuesday to discuss the situation in the state.
State party chief Kamal Sharma termed the clashes between the protestors and shopkeepers in Jalandhar as unfortunate and appealed to the people of Punjab to maintain communal harmony and peace.
He said that the incident of the sacrilege of the Guru Granth Sahib was very unfortunate and the BJP has already conveyed to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to take strongest action against the culprits. He said in this hour of crisis, the society needs to be united.
