Chandigarh, November 8: The Punjab Congress President Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa, welcomed the crushing defeat given by the people of Bihar to the divisive forces commanded by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and complemented the party vice-president Mr. Rahul Gandhi for his political acumen and foresight for stitching a strategic alliance of secular forces that has stonewalled the Hindutava bandwagon which is determined to turn the clock back and are destroying the secular fabric of our country.
He said that the Prime Minister addressed more than 30 rallies in Bihar which was unprecedented and had made it a prestige issue. Mr. Modi has devalued the office of the Prime Minister in this process by attempting to push forward his divisive agenda. He lambasted Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders like the party chief Mr. Amit Shah for spreading the politics of hate. Mr. Shah went to the extent of making reprehensible statements by dragging the name of Pakistan and attempted to alienate sections of society by creating a communal atmosphere in the run up to the elections. He said his statement that the victory of secular forces would lead to fireworks in Pakistan is reflective of his warped mindset and the people of Bihar have given him a befitting rebuttal.
Mr. Bajwa asserted that it was Mr. Gandhi who had facilitated the alliance between Mr. Nitish Kumar and Mr. Lalu Parsad Yadav to unite on the common agenda of defeating regressive and fundamentalist forces which are inimical to the idea of India. He said Mr. Modi had misled the people during the Lok Sabha elections and had showed them false dreams but the bubble had now burst and his real face stands exposed that has led to the victory of good over evil. Mr. Bajwa added that the land of Gautam Buddha has resoundingly defeated the fascist forces and have reiterated and reinforced the importance of the ideals of secularism, tolerance, liberty and freedom.
