Bhupinder Singh no more. Bollywood remembers Naam Goom Jayega singer

Veteran playback singer Bhupinder Singh passed away on Monday evening, July 18. His wife and singer Mitali Mukherjee shared the news of his demise.

Mitali Mukherjee revealed that the veteran singer suffered from several health complications. “He was suffering from several health complications, including urinary issues since some time,” his wife Mitali told IANS.

BHUPINDER SINGH PASSED AWAY IN MUMBAI
Bhupinder Singh was reportedly admitted to the hospital 8 to 10 days ago due to a urine infection. He also tested positive for Covid-19. “He passed away at around 7.45 pm due to suspected colon cancer and had Covid-19,” Mitali Mukherjee informed.

Condolence messages from Bollywood celebrities have started pouring in for the late singer. Actor Shekhar Suman tweeted, “Dil dhoondta hai phir wohi fursat ke raat din..the man with the velvet voice..Bhupendra Singh is no more…RIP.” Vishal Dadlani wrote, “In memoriam #BhupinderSingh ji. A with a voice from a gentler time. Tragically poetic that he should follow Lataji, as he did so beautifully in the song #NaamGumJaayega composed by #RDBurman and written by Gulzarsaab. Unki awaaz hi pehchaan hai, aur hamesha yaad rahegi.”

Fans too have been offering condolences on social media.

REMEMBERING BHUPINDER SINGH
The 82-year-old singer was known for his baritone voice and loved for his innumerable hits. Some of his memorable songs include Hoke Majboor Mujhe, Usne Bulaya Hoga, Dil Dhoondhta Hai, Dukki Pe Dukki Ho Ya Satte Pe Satta, Naam Goom Jayega, and more.

Bhupinder Singh is survived by his wife and son. Details regarding his funeral are still awaited.
