Bengaluru Test: India 158/0 at lunch against Afghanistan

Bengaluru, June 14

India scored 158 for no loss at lunch on the opening day of the one-off Test against Afghanistan at the M Chinnaswamy stadium here on Thursday.

Left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan (104 not out) completed his century, while Murali Vijay was batting at 41 at the break.

Earlier, India skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bat against debutants Afghanistan.

Afghanistan became the 12th nation to play Test cricket as skipper Asghar Stanikzai opted for a spin-heavy playing XI here.

For the hosts sans regular skipper Virat Kohli, wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik made a comeback to the Test side after almost eight years.
