In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old woman was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in the Kengeri area of Bengaluru.
According to a report published in the Times Now, the deceased identified as M Ranjita was a homemaker and mother of two children who had married Manjunath (also the accused in the case) in 2018 against her family’s will.
However, upon investigation, it was found that things were not going very well for the couple as Ranjita used to fight with her husband Manjunath, over his alleged affair with another woman, police said.
Moreover, Ranjita was staying with her parents for a while as she had given birth to her second child a few months ago. It was only last week that she returned to her in-laws’ house.
As per reports by The Times of India (TOI), Ranjita hanged herself on Wednesday, when her husband had gone out for a morning walk.
Later, hearing the cries of the couple’s child, neighbours walked into the house only to find Ranjita hanging from the ceiling.
Victim’s family accuses husband of extra-marital affair
After the incident, Ranjita’s parents filed a complaint against her husband Manjunath, accusing him of having an extra-marital affair, adding that it forced Ranjita to take this extreme step.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s parents, police have arrested Ranjita’s husband, Manjunath. An investigation into the case is underway.
