BAJWA, MANPREET MISLEADING PEOPLE OF PUNJAB ON CENTRAL AID: TARUN CHUGH

Tarun-700x467Chandigarh, BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh has slammed PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa and PPP president Manpreet Singh Badal of misleading the people of Punjab on the issue of central aid to state.

Ridiculing the claims of both the leaders, Chugh has advised them to refrain from telling white lies on the subject. Chugh claimed that it was grossly wrong to say that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was lagging behind in doling out central aid to Punjab as compared to previous UPA government led by Dr Manmohan Singh.

In fact the Modi government in its very first year has given Rs.3570 crore more to the state, which is 75% more than what the previous government has given in the last year, he claimed. The state got only Rs.4703 crore in 2014-15 while the NDA government has raised it to Rs.8273 crore.

The BJP leader claimed that Modi government has earmarked Rs.6543 crore for the development of Punjab in next five years.

Blaming Bajwa and Manpreet of sensationalising each and every issue that comes their way.

Coming out with comparative figures, Chugh said that Punjab got Rs. 6183 crore in 2014-15 during the UPA government while the Modi government raised the grant to Rs.8950 crore in 2015-16. This Rs.2767 crore more than the last year, he claimed.

Hailing Modi for his vision to strengthen federal structure of the country, Chugh said that Manmohan government had earmarked Rs.3.38 lakh crores for the states of the country for year 2014-15 while the NDA government has almost doubled the amount and made a provision of Rs.5.24 lakh crore.

The BJP national secretary said that people of Punjab understand each and every thing and would not be misled by leaders rejected by them. They know that Bajwa and Manpreet have their own frustrations, he said.
