Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, The Punjab Congress President, Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa, today called on Miss Gurpreet Kaur in the hospital today to inquire about her condition.
She had set herself ablaze in front of the official residence of the Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal yesterday. She had been unemployed for the last several years and trying desperately to meet the Chief Minister to get some job.
Mr Bajwa said the Badal government had become so thick skinned that it had failed to respond to the problems of the people. He said the case of Gurpreet was an extreme about the sad state of affairs in the state where the problem of unemployment had assumed explosive proportions but the government had failed to implement any of its promises.
