Bagha calls upon NGOs to provide coaching to Sc students to crack competitive exams

Chandigarh, The Chairman of Punjab Schedule Caste Commission Mr. Rajesh Bagha today called upon NGOs to come forward to provide quality education to poor students belonging to oppressed classes and provide them specialized coaching to enable them to crack All India Competitive examinations. He said that it was imperative to focus on this area as 30% youth of Punjab belong to Scheduled Caste

Interacting with the students being provided coaching by Bhai Jaitajee Foundation (BJF) here today he said Foundation was playing a meaningful role in empowering EWS brilliant students of rural Punjab through quality education . BJF runs on the ‘Daswandh’ of family funds of its Managing Trustee S. Harpal Singh. Mr. Bagha said that with the collaboration of Punjab Government and Union Government, NGOs can play a great role by engaging the various institutions, corporate, religious leaders etc in this drive.

Mr. Bagha was informed that in last 2 years the Foundation has helped three students cracking IITJEE, three in IISER, one in IIIT and two in NIT. Besides that 9 students were supported to go to Indo Swiss Training Center Chandigarh for quality diplomas in Engineering. Last year the foundation in its Join Navodaya Schools Mission provided preparatory education to 800 students in 27 centers established in the Districts of Mohali and Faridkot. This helped 58 students getting into JNVs. This year 53 centers have been established for four month free coaching to 3100 class 5 students in the districts of Mohali, Muktsar, Faridkot, Ferozepur and Bathinda.

It was informed that to prepare the students for engineering and medical entrance exams, the Foundation has selected 32 class XI science students for two year free residential program. These students are being provided regular schooling from Chandigarh, coaching from highly competent teachers for the preparation to IIT JEE 2016 and AIPMT 2016.
