Badal urges union railways minister to name any train after Namdhari Azadi Sangram Express

* Seeks his intervention for resolving this pending issue expeditiously

Chandigarh, Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today urged the Union Railways Minister Mr. DV Sadananda Gowda seeking his personal intervention to name any train after “Namdhari Azadi Sangram Express” in view of historic importance of Kuka Movement in the nation’s freedom struggle.

In a letter to Mr. Gowda, the Chief Minister sought prompt action in this regard without any further delay as the matter was pending since long. He reiterated to resolve this issue of naming any train as ‘Namdhari Azadi Sangram Express’ in order to pay befitting tribute to the great martyrs of Kuka Movement. Moreover, the Government of india has already recognized Kuka Movement a part of freedom movement of india and commemorated year long celebrations on 150 years of Kuka Movement in 2007.
