Chandigarh: 20th August 2015: In a statement issued today, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, MLA from Dera Baba Nanak asked Badal to protest in front of office of Sh. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister to press the demand of financial package for Punjab to prove his sincerity in demanding so.
He also expressed surprise that on one side elder Badal is arguing that the NDA government must do justice as “Punjab is no more a prosperous state”, his son and Deputy CM is making castles in the air and claims that he has turned Punjab to California with his laughable claim of “unprecedented development”. Randhawa said that people of Punjab are amused at the amusingly contrary views taken by father and the son.
“I am very happy that Senior Badal Sahib has conceded that Punjab is now in no way better than Bihar”, Randhawa said. He suggested CM Badal to come out with a white paper on Punjab’s financial situation and prove his statement that Punjab is no more prosperous than Bihar. This will make his claim more authentic.
He reminded that the Badals have been in power for about 14 years since the last 20 years and they are responsible for the financial mess of the State. They have pushed the state into severe debt trap by indulging into reckless borrowing coupled with vision less economic growth agenda, he said.
He also took a dig at Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal who had recently said that Capt Amarinder Singh should advice Rahul Gandhi on the GST issue. Randhawa said “You, being a senior Minister in the NDA Government, should advice and press Modi to release financial package for Punjab”.
What to talk of any financial package, it is learnt that Sh Narendra Modi has not given appointment to Badal Son duo and Smt. Harsimrat Kaur who have been seeking appointment in vain for about 2 months. On the contrary, Dr Manmohan Singh had always been liberal in giving funds to Punjab. He remembered that very often the Badals used to call upon Dr. Manmohan Singh with a bouquet of flowers and get sufficient funds. However, immediately on entering Punjab from Delhi, they used to start raising the bogey of Congress being partial towards Punjab.
The Dera Baba Nanak MLA urged the 5 times CM to check the facts that it was Vajpayee led NDA government which had given the special tax concessions to neighbouring states that hit the industry in Punjab. “You were part of the NDA Government at that time why dint you protest at that time”?
S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, said that they will also join the protest whenever S. Badal sits in dharna in front of office of Sh. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister to press the demand of financial package for Punjab.
