Badal4
Chandigarh, May 29 : Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today sought the intervention of Union Railways Ministry for halting the Sarai Rohilla-Ganganagar and Sri Ganganagar-Nanded trains at Malout railway station in Muktsar district.

In a letter to Union Minister Suresh Prabhu, the Chief Minister apprised him that Malout was a very flourishing town from where a number of traders travel daily to Delhi.

Likewise, Nanded Sahib was one of the important pilgrim centres of the Sikhs and a large number of devotees pay obeisance at this sacred place every year, it said.

Badal said that the halting of Sarai Rohilla-Ganganagar Express and Sri Ganganagar-Nanded Express at Malout station would facilitate the passengers of south western Punjab to travel to Delhi besides paying obeisance at Nanded Sahib.

The Chief Minister impressed upon Prabhu to immediately direct the Railways department to ensure the stoppage of both these trains thereby saving the time, money and energy of the people from the region.
