Sydney: Power-hitters Chris Lynn and Glenn Maxwell propelled Australia to a convincing seven-wicket victory over New Zealand in the first T20I of the tri-series. Lynn (44 off 33) and Maxwell (40* off 24) shared a 77-run stand to steer Australia to the rain-reduced total of 95 with 21 balls to spare. Australia’s victory was set up by fast bowler Billy Stanlake who wrecked New Zealand’s top order with three wickets in the space of his first eight balls.
