* APPRECIATES EFFORTS MADE BY BOARD FOR SAFEKEEPING OF COWS
Chandigarh, June 26: The Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal today met a delegation of the Gauseva and Gauchar Vikas Board, Gujarat.
The delegation members, who were led by Chairman of the Board Dr. Vallabh Bhai Katharia, said that the cows are living in pathetic conditions without proper attention being paid for their upkeep. It is high time that strategies are formulated for their safekeeping as they are also the source of income especially to the rural population.
The delegation members said that it is for this purpose that the Board came into existence after consultations with various NGOs and experts and is currently touring the country.
Dr. Atwal appreciated the efforts being made by the delegation members and assured them of every possible help. He also presented mementos and shawls to all the delegation members.
During the meeting Swami Chinmayanand, Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan Nurmahal, Dr. Satish Kumar, Chief Scientist,CCMB, Hyderabad, Dr. Ranbir Singh, Scientist, IVRI,Dr. K.P. Singh Bhadauria,Military Farm, Gwalior, Pradip Gandhi, Ex-MP Chhatisgarh, Hariom Tayal and Kulbir Singh, D.D. Parashar, Brigadier (Retd.) R.R. Yadav, Prateek Sawalia, Dr. Dev Singh, Sudhir Aggarwal and Brajesh Mishra were also present.
